Chris Grant's MISTER PETE has shown improved form of late, winning his last two starts both over course and distance, and he can defy a 10lb rise for the latest of those successes and complete a hat-trick with the main dangers rated as Thatlldoforme and Basford Lass. Jennie Candlish's mare ran much better earlier this month when chasing home Cat Six in a competitive contest at Catterick and she has to be respected racing off just a 4lb higher mark today. James Moffatt's Mudawin disappointed on his return to hurdles at Kelso recently having won on the flat at York on his previous start and now looks best watched, while Ballymacduff is lightly raced but needs to improve on all known form. Kempski is readily discounted after recent performances and of more interest may be Thatlldoforme, who showed signs of a return to form at Kelso last time. None of these are in better form than Mister Pete though and Chris Grant's gelding can win again.
