BURNT OAK's bumper form must make him of interest and fit from recent outings on the flat he gets the vote over Sendali and Spellchecker. Despite winning two bumpers in impressive fashion back in 2005/6, the selection has been unable to progress with a flat career. The switch to hurdling looks a good move and he is expected to start fulfilling that early potential. AP McCoy and Howard Johnson teamed up to good effect earlier this week and Spellchecker needs respect based on his good fifth to Waterloo Road on his recent hurdles debut over this course and distance. Fiftyfive Degrees was further back on that occasion and this strong-stayer, a winner of several point-to-points and a hunter chase will need much further before he is winning. Quinda Spring makes his UK debut and could be anything; the market will help there. Peters Pride was a fair bumper horse and needs a check in the betting, whilst Brian's Journey represents a stable in good form but they are not renowned for their debut winners. Sendali is another for consideration having won on good to soft on the flat, however for the winner we will side with Burnt Oak.
