This looks highly likely to fall the way of a Newmarket raider with TRADE COMMISSIONER taken to give his main rivals 19lb and a beating. The Montjeu gelding has clearly had his problems, making a belated debut last month when revealing promise and scope in finishing in some style in a fair maiden won by Glen Moss. Understandably not given a hard time over an inadequate 7f, the step-up in trip is sure to suit and he can get off the mark here before going on to better things. Stable companion, Widyaan, made a more than satisfactory start to life at Lingfield last November when a good second in fair maiden company and the Lawman gelding should have more to offer. It will be interesting to see how the market compares the Gosden inmates. Gabrial The Great was backed into favouritism here last September for his racecourse debut. Another son of Montjeu, he was clearly well fancied that day but disappointed. He looks a likely improver over middle distances this term.
