Few arrive in the best of form bar a couple of notable exceptions, of which BEACHWOOD BAY makes most appeal. Jo Hughes' charge has done the majority of his running, and winning, on the Fibresand, compiling a good wins-to-runs ratio. His ability to handle that surface suggests soft ground should suit and the consistent gelding can post a first turf success. David Griffiths has done well to coax a couple of wins out of Cyflymder and the six-year-old improved again last time upped in grade at Lingfield, staying on well when only beaten a length into fourth spot in a Class 5 handicap. He scored on the soft way back in 2008 and should be in the shake-up if transferring recent improvement to turf. Alluring Star would definitely have a leading role to play if in the same form that saw her score three times in as many months last season before her form tailed off raised to higher marks. She's back on a decent perch now and could be interesting if fully wound up for her first run of the season.
