        Verdict

        It was soft ground when NORTHERN FLING won this race last year and racing off a 5lb lower mark today, Jim Goldie's charge looks to have an excellent chance of repeating that success. He makes more appeal than Coolminx, who continues to slip down the weights without showing any notable improvement, while Beckermet is holding his form well but the veteran has run over today's trip without success on plenty of occasions in the past. Indian Giver is making her seasonal debut though she did win in heavy ground over 6f here last September.
