The vote here goes to Tom Forest ahead of Adoration and Simplify, although it might pay to keep an eye on one or two in the betting. Tom Forest stepped up on previous form when scoring nicely at Warwick last time over today's trip and under similar conditions. A four-pound rise for that seems fair and, as such, he can go well again, particularly as the fifth from that race won at Windsor on Monday. Adoration, of course, warrants respect following a Pontefract maiden win last time, and a gelding operation seems to have had the desired effect. Dispol Isle's form is reasonable enough, although it is possibly surprising he is running as he soon to drop five pounds in the weights. Simplify's Warwick run was a step back towards the level of form he had shown at two and, stepping up in trip today, he gets a favourable mention. Of the others, it would be no surprise to see the Richard Fahey-trained Favouring improve for the step up to seven furlongs today; Flaxby could also be open to improvement, and has already been placed from his current mark, and he finished just ahead of the staying-on Tanforan last time, so afford the latter some thought also. With Red Chairman having looked quirky, Red River Rock needing to improve on Turf, and Out Of India needing to transfer recent all-weather improvement to Turf, we return to the selection, which is Tom Forest.
