Verdict
Cornflower may prove good enough at the first time of asking to beat Comma, with Baby Dordan and Isola Madre also worth a mention. The Godolphin newcomers have been a bit in-and-out all season, and so it is hard to back any with supreme confidence. However, Cornflower could easily turn out to be above average and is a tentative vote to oblige. An American-bred daughter of Seeking The Gold, the dam is related to Lujain, and let's face it, she need not be anything special to go close in this company. Comma ran out of steam on her Nottingham debut over a mile a fortnight ago, and so the drop back to seven furlongs will help, but she looked nothing out of the ordinary, while Isola Madre ran a similar sort of race on her Chepstow bow. Nothing else makes much appeal, and so we return to Cornflower as the pick of the bunch.
