In depth

Verdict

Elkhorn is at a career low rating but is bang out of form and isn't fancied to take advantage of his favourable placing in the weights. Fair Bunny won over course and distance last time out but that was on soft ground and she would prefer the conditions to be similar to give her best account. Red China Blues beat some of these before at Carlisle in June but he has disappointed since then and is opposed. Red River Boy won on his last outing at Catterick and although not heavily punished for that success, it came over five furlongs and therefore we prefer the attentions of NEEDY MCCREDIE who was second here last time out. She is still a maiden from eleven starts but this could be the ideal opportunity to open her account. Exceedingly Good was picked up for just £800 last October after once being worth 110,000 guineas and she has already paid back that amount with success over this distance at Nottingham earlier this year. She could also play a role in a race lacking in quality but not in competitiveness.
