The likes of The Hollinwell, Pete and to a lesser extent Grand Union and Grande Monsieur have obvious claims but we'll take a chance with The Portonion with Sir Mark another to watch closely in the market. Sir Mark was well supported in the market prior to his intended debut last month and it will be interesting to see if his supporters come in again but we'll take a chance with another newcomer in The Portonion. Malcolm Jefferson landed a bumper with a newcomer at the weekend and this half-brother to the useful Claymore makes plenty of appeal on paper. The Hollinwell has shown signs of greeness/temperament on both outings which has to be a concern; he's blessed with plenty of ability but still has a fair bit to learn. Pete made a pleasing debut on heavy ground at Sedgefield whilst Grande Monsieur and Grand Union both showed enough to be worth a second look. As ever, a market check is advised but we'll take a chance with The Portonion.
