A good pin would be an advantage here with no fewer than 20 runners set to face the starter over the one-mile trip. Needless to say plenty of them have claims and any selection can only be a tentative one. Among those worthy of a mention are topweight Oscar Pepper who is only 2lbs higher than when winning at Redcar in June, Jim Goldie's Sting Like A Bee who has dropped to an attractive mark for his handicap debut, Queens Musician who came up against the well handicapped Eton at Pontefract last time and Apache Point who was probably not suited by being dropped to seven furlongs last time. Harmony Hall, a close up fourth at Beverley on his most recent start, Highland Warrior another Goldie representative and Mary Reveley's Ruby Legend are others to consider but the TEAMtalk vote just goes to Mana Pools. Jeremy Glover's daughter of Brief Truce is racing off the same mark as when beating Joint Statement (winner twice since) a head in July and, if in the same mood here, he should be thereabouts again.
