A competitive start to Newmarket's Cambridge meeting with 13 runners lining up over 1m4f in the day's Showcase handicap. After nine fruitless starts this season, Mark Johnston's Robandela finally opened his account for the season at Hamilton last week. However, a 3lb penalty for that and this tougher opposition will make it hard for this most resilient of characters to follow up. Royal Cavalier was rather fortunate to in at Doncaster last month, where the runner-up Solo Flight had anything but a clear passage and may struggle to win again off his new mark, while topweight King's Mill has yet to prove his effectiveness over this trip. Marcus Tregoning's Elsaamri makes a belated reappearance and, with the stable only just coming back after a spell with the cough, he is entitled to need the outing. It can, at this stage of the season, often pay to follow the three-year-olds in all age handicaps and John Dunlop's In Disguise is certainly one to consider. The son of Nashwan has been on the go for some time now though and we prefer to side with Reveillez, who gets the TEAMtalk selection. The First Trump colt has shown improved form since being stepped up to this distance recently and, although disappointing at York last time, he may not have stopped improving yet.
