A very tough race to assess and the sporting vote goes to Monte Major, with Malapropism and Green Lagonda also worthy of a mention. The selection comes here in pretty good nick having been successful on the all-weather, before running third in a hot handicap at Carlisle. He still looks on a decent enough mark and could be the one to beat. Malapropism looked on the way back to form last time out when finishing an excellent third behind Caustic Wit at Lingfield on Saturday night. The fact that he make such a quick return suggests that he could be about to reach his peak. Green Lagonda is an interesting runner from James Givens' yard. No world beater in Australia, but should come on for his first run in the this country. In a modest affair, Jayanjay can't be easily ruled, but Monte Major does appear to have the best recent form on show and he gets the decision.
