    Verdict

Candy Mountain is set to go up 1lb in future handicaps and has to be respected but Luca Cumani's filly is far from certain to stay this far so she may be booked for a place again and preference is for Abounding, who gets the vote ahead of Generous Jem. The last mentioned disappointed on a soft surface two starts ago but ran better back on faster ground last time and is entitled to be thereabouts again judged by that effort. Elegant Hawk made a pleasing debut in this grade here over 1m2f last time and may do better stepped up in trip but may be a shade high in the weights, while Orphina has more to do than when successful at Folkestone last time. Driving Miss Suzie looks to be coming into form but has harshly been raised 3lbs despite being beaten into third place at Kempton last time. Cushat Law is capable and again ran well off today's mark at Salisbury last week so has to be respected but preference is for Abounding. Ralph Beckett's filly paid the penalty for her win at Wolverhampton but showed that her time might not be far away when a close third in a decent race at Newmarket earlier this month, a reproduction of which may suffice in this company.
