Call For Liberty is taken to get the better of Le Toreador and Visconti in a competitive opener. The selection was only beaten a neck by Fitzroy Crossing last time which was very creditable given the fact that the bit slipped at an early stage in the race. It was also a big improvement on his debut effort when the ground had been too soft for him. He has his ground though today and should take plenty of beating. Le Toreador is a brother to the top-class La Cucaracha, and he looked as though there was still more to come when finishing fourth behind Thompsons Walls at Newcastle last time. He should give our selection plenty to think about, while Visconti finished in mid-division in a hot maiden at Newmarket last time and is sure to come on plenty for that introduction to the racecourse. Glittering Prize and Smarterthanuthink are interesting newcomers from top yards so are worth a look in the market, but we will stick with Call For Liberty as our idea of the winner as he sets a decent benchmark for the rest.
