Lodi belied starting odds of 40/1 by making an encouraging start to his career when a close fourth in a Newmarket maiden two weeks ago and a reproduction of the from shown that day may be good enough to see Brian Meehan's gelding take this so he gets the vote ahead of Challow Hills and Harting Hill. The last mentioned is a half-brother to a couple of useful horses but may well do better over further as a three-year-old next season so may be best watched today. Roger Charlton's Doctor Robert improved on his debut effort when switched to turf last time and would have claims if building on that effort, while Flight To Quality is probably best watched on his debut as is normally the case with Mark Johnston's youngsters. Dubai Land is bred to be useful and a market move for Mick Channon's colt would have to be of interest, while the Barry Hills-trained Challow Hills showed plenty of promise on her first start and is another to consider. Marginal preference in a tricky contest though is for Lodi, who is taken to build on that promising Newmarket debut.
