There is little form for backers to go on in this maiden with only four of the 16 declared runners having raced previously but the newcomers make limited appeal and it may pay to concentrate on those with experience with LADY PATTERN looking the pick of them and getting the vote ahead of Shibhan and Bathwick Xaara. The last mentioned was a relatively cheap purchase but she belied odds of 66/1 when making a pleasing debut when a close up fourth behind Bahati over course and distance last month and has to be respected after that effort. Pherousa ran well in a maiden auction race at Salisbury first time up when finding just Decree Absolute too good and she has to be considered but this looks tougher. Sabatini looks the pick of Richard Hannon's two runners ahead of Giulietta da Vinci, while Pat Eddery's expensive purchase Kenswick could also be of interest first time out but a bigger threat is likely to come from Shibhan. Clive Brittain's filly has run well in both starts so far, latterly when a close third in a Pontefract maiden and she has solid claims back in this grade. Preference though is for Paul D'Arcy's Lady Pattern, who stepped up on her debut outing at Windsor when a good third in a decent Folkestone maiden last time and she can gain a deserved first success today.
