The rain has come in time for Frank Sonata, who has to be respected under conditions that suit but he may lack the class to beat Day Flight, who looks a better bet than Mubtaker. The last mentioned rattled up a four timer before finishing down the field in the Arc last time and has solid claims on the pick of his form but that has generally been on a faster surface than this. John Dunlop's Munsef looks to be going the right way and will have no problem with the cut in the ground but needs to improve again to trouble the selection. Godolphin's Songlark would probably prefer a faster surface, while De Laurentiis could be anything after just two starts. Day Flight is a classy individual who relishes plenty of cut in the ground and John Gosden's colt is taken to defy his Group 3 penalty.
