Yankee George has been in consistent form in similar contests of late but a 4lb rise for his latest second at Newmarket leaves Mick Channon's gelding with more to do and preference is for Desert d'Argent, who gets the vote ahead of stablemate Hearthstead Dancer. The latter of the two Johnston horses is pitched into a nursery after just one start, having won at Thirsk on his debut, and could be of interest but Desert d'Argent promises to improve significantly for the longer trip and will not mind any further rain. Amanda Perrett's yard is in good form at present so Jumbajukiba has to be respected although he has yet to prove himself on ground this soft but his pedigree suggests it should suit. Ayr winner North Walk may not be as effective over today's longer trip and of more interest may be Clive Brittain's Rajeem, who looks to be going the right way at present. Il Castagno, Damelza and Your Amount are others worthy of a mention in a competitive opener but Desert d'Argent did nothing wrong over an inadequate trip first time out and there should be plenty more to come under today's conditions.
