In depth

Verdict

A hot novice contest. Malka was beaten less than a length last time and Mambo Sunset has shown promise on both starts. Red Danielle looked a nailed-on winner after a narrow loss on debut but failed to fire when unplaced on the all-weather next time. It's too early to write her off. Sweet Memories and Humankind, for the Gosdens and Stoute, respectively, both displayed more than enough last term to suggest they'll make a mark as three-year-olds and are taken seriously, especially if the money comes for them. MAMAN JOON came home last at Royal Ascot but had previously finished fourth in The Oaks behind Soul Sister. That is by far the best form on show and she's given a chance to prove her latest running all wrong. Mappatassie has it all to do conceding over a stone all round returning to action.
