Vamp, Burgundy and Wee Dinns catch the eye in this wide open handicap, and Ralph Beckett¿s Vamp is taken to come out on top and supplement a recent Newmarket success. Burgundy is better than ever at the age of eight and he ran another sound race to be fourth at Epsom last time. Twice a winner in August, he will handle the ground but may have to settle for a place. Wee Dinns shoulders top weight but has won only once in seventeen starts. That win though came over this course and distance, and he has run well to be placed on his last two starts. However, he is yet to prove he handles easier ground and is passed over. Vamp though looks the one to be on. Ease in the ground is necessary for him to show his best and after a series of unplaced efforts on fast ground he dropped down the handicap before scoring at Newmarket. He is turned out again quickly and can score again.
