Genetics clearly didn’t stay 2m at York and is much respected back over his best trip, though is still 12lb higher than for his last success. Platitude, on the other hand, may struggle for pace over this distance nowadays on ground this quick. PACIFY got no sort of run behind Titus at York last month. He wouldn’t have beaten the winner in any case but would have finished closer and fast ground suits Ralph Beckett’s gelding though, like a few of these, he’ll want a strong pace. Communique can provide the pace angle but he weakened quickly on his only previous try over 1m4f. Not So Sleepy is back on a winning mark but is another better suited by shorter trips and Infrastructure was well beaten at Goodwood last time when 6lb lower. Kasperenko’s recent victory came on Polytrack but he’s still preferred to the disappointing Alternative Fact.

Kasperenko 16-1 (10-2) Set slow pace, increased tempo 5f out, narrowly headed 4f out, led over 2f out, in command when ridden inside final furlong, stayed on well, won at Chelmsford City 1m 5f hcp (3) pol in Aug beating Ashington (9-3) by 2 1/4l, 9 ran.
Not So Sleepy 10-1 (9-7) Towards rear, headway over 2f out, ridden and kept on one pace, 4th of 12, 4 1/2l behind Dubai Horizon (9-10) at Sandown 1m 2f hcp (2) gs in Sep.

Infrastructure 7-2 (8-11) Mid-division, switched left and bumped rival over 3f out, driven over 1f out, never really figured, 6th of 10, 5 1/4l behind Soto Sizzler (8-0) at Goodwood 1m 4f hcp (2) gd in Aug.
