    Verdict

Dolphin Vista has seemingly been out of sorts since landing the Doonside Cup last season whilst First Nation and What About Carlo are running okay but concede 9lb to the three-year-olds. Pondus was quietly fancied for the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot but was never competitive. Maybe the race came too soon but this will provide a better barometer of his ability. Set Piece, third in the Craven Stakes and unplaced in the 2000 Guineas, steps up to 10f now but the classy FOX CHAIRMAN (NAP) is preferred. Whether he'd have won is another matter, but he was unlucky in running when second in the Hampton Court at the Royal meeting and can go one better.
