RADIOHEAD may have lost the race at York last time out in the Nunthorpe but he gained plenty of respect and Brian Meehan's talented colt can see out this longer trip to get back into the winners' enclosure; the main danger may be Awzaan who comes here defending an unblemished record. The selection won the Norfolk Stakes on his third run when seeing off Reignier by a comfortable couple of lengths. He was then given a break before running a gallant third in the Nunthorpe against older battle-hardened horses. The way that he stayed on there lends one to feel that this extra furlong will not pose any problems and with Jamie Spencer back on board he is fancied to take all the beating. Angel's Pursuit bounced back to form at Doncaster last time but this step back up in grade demands further improvement, so a bigger threat is likely to be Awzaan. He has been off since demolishing a decent field at Newmarket and this son of Alhaarth is only likely to improve with age and racing. His dam was a prolific winner and this fellow looks like being no different, especially when he steps up further in trip. Colonel Mak is a decent sprinter but he has a length to find with Angel's Pursuit, Stargaze finished in front of Angel's Pusuit at Bath in July and has since been a gallant third in a Group Two at Goodwood, whilst Wisecraic has a bit to find on a form line with him via Dick Turpin but may find this smaller field in his favour. Quarrel completes the line-up; pilot Michael Hills thinks quite a bit of this colt and he deserves this step up in grade. However his supporters may be left high and dry as it is class act Radiohead who can creep home in front.
