Tagula Blue has obvious claims despite the size of the field, and is the pick over Compton Court, Charlie Kennet and Oakley Absolute. Tagula Blue has had temperament problems in the past but there has been nothing wrong with his attitude of late, judged on back-to-back victories at Pontefract and Leicester. He made the most of no penalty last time, plus he had the assistance of Kieren Fallon in the plate, but even so he looks the one to beat here, and it could be significant that the Leicester second Soufah declines a rematch, having been entered at the five-day stage. Compton Court was placed on each of his final two outings last year and showed that he has trained on with a promising reappearance at Lingfield in April. Relatively lightly raced, he should have no trouble finding a handicap opening in due course. Charlie Kennet made most of the running until headed by the selection at Leicester and is now 5lb better off at the weights. Considering that was his first run of the season it was a cracking effort, and he should make a bold bid to turn the form around. A place at the very least beckons for Heidi Sweeting's charge who makes more appeal than Oakley Absolute who was well beaten at Leicester. Take Tagula Blue to complete the hat-trick.
