A competitive finale to the day's action with plenty of the 27 runners holding claims including Violet Park, Enrapture and Ashwaaq but the vote goes to Kali, who has a progressive profile. Roger Charlton's filly had shown promise in maidens prior to a fine debut in handicap-company when quarter-of-a-length second of 17 behind Kryssa at Kempton in June. The daughter of Linamix subsequently opened her account in a Warwick maiden later that month and has been given a break since. The stable's horses are in good form now and off just a 4lb higher mark than at Kempton she looks worth a bet. Brian Meehan's Violet Park has won her last two but faces a stiffer task off a 5lb higher mark than last time. Amanda Perrett's Enrapture was disappointing when favourite for her debut in this grade at Goodwood last month but it is probably too soon to dismiss this lightly raced daughter of Lear Fan. John Dunlop's Ashwaaq is similarly inexperienced and has to be respected but would not appear to be particularly well treated for her debut in a handicap. The William Haggas-trained Vonadaisy made a winning return in a Warwick maiden last month and is interesting off her lightweight. Chris Wall's Keyaki should appreciate the faster conditions here than at Yarmouth last time and is another to consider but the vote goes to Kali to continue her progression.
