Salamanca created a favourable impression when making a winning debut over course and distance last month and is taken to confirm that promise by taking this valuable prize with Code Orange and Justaquestion rated the main dangers. The last mentioned has been on the go for some time but has retained her form well and looks well treated by the conditions of the race. The drop back from seven furlongs may also be against Ian Wood's filly so a bigger threat may come from Code Orange. John Gosden has booked Frankie Dettori for the ride on the daughter of Green Desert, who is less exposed than many of her opponents after just two career starts. However, the burden of 9st may be beyond her. Richard Hannon's Baltic Dip is similarly lightly raced and is another worthy of a mention along with Arabian Dancer, who looks the pick of Mick Channon's five runners judged by jockey bookings. The last mentioned has a high draw that is generally considered preferable to a low one. Andrew Balding's Lady Le Quesne, who also has a draw towards the stands' side rail, comes here on a hat trick but this looks tougher than those races that she has won of late and preference is for Salamanca. Sylvester Kirk's filly showed plenty of speed when winning here last month, quickening well off a slow pace and this has been the target ever since. The form of that race has worked out well and Salamanca is taken to boost it further.
