In depth

Verdict

Not a strong race although plentiful in numbers and Jack Rolfe is narrowly preferred to Montchara and Prime Powered. Unexposed on the turf, he won well enough at Wolverhampton over 1m6f and with conditions taking a turn for the worse, that stamina could well come into play. Montchara won well in a bad race at Wolverhampton over 1m4f. More is needed in this better grade. Prime Powered has to be respected given the form of the Ralph Beckett stable. Olimpo returns to the flat after an abortive campaign over hurdles. Crete was well touted in his younger days and is watched in the market upon a return from a very long absence. Cordier should have stripped fitter for a recent outing on the all-weather. Jack Rolfe is still unexposed and might be worth another chance now returned to turf.
