Verdict

Medicean Man stumbled on leaving the stalls at Doncaster 10 days ago and could reverse that form with runner-up Dinkum Diamond, though both would need to improve to get competitive in this better grade. Masamah looks up against it at the weights but Deacon Blues has to go on the short-list as he's done nothing but improve this year. He's never raced over 5f, however, and there must be a danger that he'll find things happening too quickly today as there are several trail-blazers in this who will take no prisoners. One of those is NIGHT CARNATION, whose only failure this season came when badly drawn at Sandown in June. She had Beyond Desire and Astrophysical Jet behind when making amends at the same track in July and, as that race has worked out well, can score again here. Irish filly Katia may be best of the rest.
