Some interesting newcomers here but they will need to be useful to trouble those with experience who set a decent standard and the vote goes to Akimbo, who is preferred to Admiral and Latif. The selection is a beautifully bred son of Kingmambo and although beaten at odds on by Mukafeh when making his racecourse debut last season the first two pulled clear of the remainder that day and the form looks solid. The extra furlong should suit and Akimbo is taken to go one better. Sir Michael Stoute's Admiral showed enough in two starts last term to suggest that he can win races and should do better once tackling longer trips and of more interest may be John Gosden's Latif, who is entitled to have learned a great deal from his only start as a juvenile. John Dunlop's Lucky Again is a stoutly bred son of Be My Guest and may also want further to show his best form and of more interest among the newcomers may be the Barry Hills-trained News Sky, who is a half-brother by Gone West to Sayyedati. However, Akimbo sets a decent standard and should be tough to beat.
