Verdict

A modest maiden where the betting market is likely to play it's usual part in providing clues to the confidence of the various parties concerned. However, as the debut win of Little Biscuit was nothing out of the ordinary a chance is taken with one of the newcomers. Maureen's Lough and Emma's Venture are shortlisted as live dangers and support for either could prove to be a significant move. However, Karita, as the sole representative of the Newmarket yards and most expensive purchase in the field, is narrowly preferred today. Mick Easterby - with three intended runners in the field - will be disappointed if none of his trio hit the frame and support for Fold Walk should also be taken seriously as the Paris House filly looks to be the stable's first string on jockey bookings. However, Michael Bell has the better recent record with his juvenile runners and is taken to expand upon his 25 % strike-rate with Karita here.
