GOOD LORD is put forwards ahead of Rougham and Veiled whilst there are a couple of interesting newcomers in Perception and Advisor in whom confidence would be encouraging. Francois Doumen landed a double at Sandown earlier in the month which bodes well for the chances of Good Lord who has finished runner-up on all three starts at Auteuil. The horse that beat him on debut went on to win its next start whilst the winner of his second start was far from disgraced in a Grade 1 suggesting that the form is solid enough. Rougham didn't appear to jump all that well at Wincanton but ran his rivals absolutely ragged from the front and clearly has an engine. This opposition is far more demanding but he brushed aside his opponents on debut and has to be feared. Veiled was a well backed and easy winner on debut after which her trainer expressed hopes that she might make up into a live Triumph Hurdle candidate. It's a long way from the East Midlands to Cheltenham in March but she was progressive on the level this year and couldn't have won any more easily. Perception opened her account from a mark of 62 over two miles at Kempton so will need to improve on her Flat form for the switch to hurdling whilst Advisor won a mile handicap off 74 in the spring but failed to add to that success in five subsequent starts. Sohcatoa failed to win after his third start but had a three figure rating in the spring and ran some fair races during the course of the year so could be a fair performer if he takes to this game. Traditionally, this is a strong race although it lacks the usual Henderson representative. In the absence of a runner from Seven Barrows, Good Lord might be the one.
