In depth

Verdict

HARVARD MAN made a winning start over 5f here last month when bursting clear a good way from home and just hanging on. Jimmy Fortune takes over the reins today and will likely hang on to him a bit longer over today's extra distance. Brian Meehan's colt had Sixth Sense a length behind on that occasion and connections of the latter will fancy his chances of reversing the form having subsequently won easily at Pontefract. He is preferred to stablemates Riflescope and Beaverbrook but Doncaster winner Birchwood can also figure with Ryan Moore on board today. Handytalk never threatened at Ascot despite finishing second while jockey bookings suggest Shalaa is preferred to the more expensive purchase Eltezam.
