Verdict

The largest field ever assembled for this Group 1 mile contest won by the Hannon yard with Olympic Glory last year. The stable have a couple of live chances this time around in NIGHT OF THUNDER and Toormore with the former preferred. Now racing in Godolphin's colours, last year's 2000 Guineas hero did nothing wrong in defeat after that and was arguably unlucky when runner-up in the QE11 at Ascot in October ahead of Toormore. Custom Cut was well beaten at Ascot but much better is expected on this faster surface having won a Group 2 at Sandown on his reappearance beating Here Comes When. David O'Meara's charge also has the beating of several of the others and looks sure to figure. Trade Storm is a Group 1 winner in Canada but Andrea Atzeni prefers Arod while Tullius finished runner-up last year and makes more appeal than Ballydoyle representative Cougar Mountain. Aljamaaheer finished third in the 2013 renewal and Group 1 Sun Chariot heroine Integral should also go well on her return to action while we may not have seen the best of Yuften yet.
