Verdict
Shyrl should take all the beating here provided that she handles the softer ground. Excellerator and Lucky Leigh are two of the likelier challengers. Shyrl is the apple of her rookie trainer's eye and deservedly so having finished second in the Queen Mary Stakes on her second start. She's a smart sort who will be strongly fancied to take this before stepping back up in grade. Lucky Leigh was only a head and a neck behind at Royal Ascot but hasn't really gone on from there. She may not have been suited by the firm ground at Bath last time though and isn't dismissed. Kerrys Requiem will find it tough under a penalty but should handle the ground and be suited by the drop back in trip. Excellerator took third in the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot last time and she should be ideally suited by a return to racing over the minimum and there's every chance that she'll handle the ground. Aspen Darlin's best form puts her firmly in the picture and it may not pay to discard Riotista too quickly although she has plenty to do on the face of it and we fancy. Not a bad renewal but Shyrl may prove to be a cut above average.
