Changing Skies is selected here ahead of Strategic Mission and Monashee Rock. Beautifully-bred, being a sister to Playful Act and Percussionist, any money for Changing Skies would be interesting here and she gets the vote with that proviso offered up. Leifmotif is likely to show improvement from his debut, which contained promise. Strategic Mission was a little disappointing last time but had earlier shown promise on his debut, when he was backed, so he must have some ability and his chance is respected. Monashee Rock was not beaten far here last time in a maiden and is also respected, while Saleima's Newmarket debut third has a very solid look to it. Among the interesting newcomers are Roger Charlton's Contrada, a 160,000 guineas son of Medicean, his stable mate Clowance, who is related to a lot of German winners, Hawkstar Express, a 25,000 guineas son of Hawk Wing, and Hughie Morrison's 52,000 guineas purchase, Red Twist. For the selection, though, we return to Changing Skies.
