Myanmar, Star Acclaim and Malta make the shortlist here where there is virtually no solid form to speak of, with Myanmar getting a very tentative vote in a wide open affair. Malta looks one of John Gosden's lesser lights based on a moderate effort in a Yarmouth maiden first time out. The cut in the ground may help but she is best watched here. Having finished last on her debut, Star Acclaim stepped up on that run when finishing a close seventh in the hot maiden won by Danae at Newmarket in April. That was a classy affair in the context of this race, but the lay off of three months is concerning. Myanmar has shown ability in both his starts to date, latterly behind the useful Navajo Joe at Lingfield. This is a poor affair by Newbury standards, and a chance is taken that Myanmar can prove the best here.
