KINETIX went close on her first start at Nottingham on ground that would certainly have been quick enough and John Gosden's daughter of Linamix can go one place better today; the shortlist is made up of Brilliana, Chanrossa and Queen Of Pentacles. The selection was a 14/1 chance at Nottingham but she belied her odds with a sterling effort in defeat. The winner has gone on to win since off a mark of 74 and the third horse (a disappointing Sir Michael Stoute favourite) had previously run well at this track so the form looks solid. Queen Of Pentacles shaped nicely on soft ground here in May and Ryan Moore is a positive jockey booking (29% strike-rate for the yard in recent seasons), whilst Park Melody and Whooshka are two newcomers to watch closely. Chanrossa seems to be improving with each start but her trainer will not be rushing her along, so a bigger threat may be Brilliana who is bred to improve on her 33/1 sixth at Leicester now stepped up in trip this season. This is another fascinating race but we feel that Kinetix looks like one of the better bets on the card.
