prominent, ridden 2f out, every chance well over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong
soon in touch, ridden 2f out, weakened final furlong
mid-division, effort on outside well over 1f out, gradually faded
slowly away, soon mid-division, ridden and weakened well over 1f out
with winner, ridden 2f out, every chance over 1f out, not quicken inside final furlong
slowly away, soon mid-division, ridden and effort over 1f out, one pace inside final furlong
held up, in touch, pushed along and headway over 2f out, kept on same pace final furlong
made virtually all, ridden over 1f out, quickened inside final furlong, comfortably
slowly into stride, prominent, ridden 3f out, outpaced 2f out, kept on inside final furlong
slowly into stride, soon prominent, pushed along over 2f out, no extra inside final furlong
behind, pushed along 3f out, stayed on inside final furlong, never dangerous
This is a real puzzle with some highly regarded young ladies stepping out for the first time. In-form Barry Hills saddles two of them, Nashwan Star and New Orchid, with the former likely to attract support on the strength of some good home reports. She is a half-sister to Air Express and although sure to benefit from a mile at least, must be on the short-list today. Triple Act, a two-million dollar yearling, represents David Loder and Frankie Dettori, while Henry Cecil saddles only his second runner of the new season in Dawnus, a daughter of Night Shift. With so much unexposed talent, it is really a race to watch and take note, but Nashwan Star is taken to make a bold show.
