Verdict

Only three contest the opener on the Newbury card, including Newcomer Pivotal Guest from the Mick Channon stable who supplied last year's winner Polar Force. A 140,000gns colt, related to Tenby on the dam's side, he will improve markedly when upped in trip eventually. Red Power won what has turned out to be an average Brocklesby for resurgent trainer Paul Blockley and will do well to follow up against Mac The Knife, also successful at Doncaster, on Lincoln day. Richard Hannon has his team well forward, and in receipt of 6lbs from Red Power, is taken to remain unbeaten.
