A competitive event where short list material includes Merrymadcap, Jo'burg and Clovis, but LOVE IN THE PARK looks the one to be on. The selection was beaten from a similar mark to what he races from with today's penalty when making his handicap debut at Chepstow in May. Two subsequent runs on fast ground have seen him first make the frame and then score at Lingfield when stepped up in trip last time. A further furlong here can help to elicit more improvement and she can follow-up. Merrymadcap is also penalised courtesy of a 10f Salisbury success last time out, and he did the job well enough to suggest that he will remain a major player tonight. Jo'burg is a consistent gelding who acts well on fast ground and over this trip. He has never won on anything other than good to firm, however, and so connections will have to hope that there is no rain. Clovis has just the one win to his name from 25 starts, and while that does not mean he cannot double his tally here he might just have a few pounds too many on his back, and that should prevent him from doing so. Megalala is just 2lbs higher than when scoring on good to soft at Brighton, but goes well on this ground and still looks reasonably treated. Lord Theo is exposed but not without a chance of taking home some prize money, but Love In The Park can score.
