Verdict

Optiva Star has entries in some valuable sales races later in the season and this slight step up in trip will suit the Windsor third. But MYSTERIOUS NIGHT (NAP) was all the rage in what looked an above-average maiden here last month and came up just short. Had he steered a straight course in the closing stages, the Godolphin colt would almost certainly have won and he can recoup losses today. John Chard VC was beaten under a length over course and distance nine days ago and looks another useful recruit while newcomers Bashawaat and Kyeema represent powerful stables. Promoter has an eye-catching pedigree but he will likely thrive when tackling further.
