The well bred TASEEM seems to be the bench mark these maiden's all have to aim for and as such is our choice ahead of Avongate and debutant Trewarthenick. Things couldn't have gone a lot worse for the selection on debut, who looked very green and probably wasn't helped by the bottomless ground. These conditions should see him put in a better display and with the yard's juveniles often needing a run we give him another chance to add to his family's multiple success stories. Avongate was expensive enough and did show mild improvement from his first run to second last time. His pedigree suggests he should be better than this class and with his trainer continuing his impressive record with two-year-olds this season he can't be ruled out . Andrew Balding's stable are in good form and his Trewarthenick is bred for sprint trips at this age and should go well early in his career so has to be considered. As always with these contests we suggest you check the market for positive signs but Taseem looks best for now.
