      Verdict

      OKITA SOUSHI looked on the upgrade when completing a double at Dundalk. He wasn't beaten far in an Ascot handicap over this trip last summer and though he's never raced on testing ground his fitness may give him the edge. French Claim reappeared with an easy victory last season before finishing third in the Irish Derby. He ran reasonably well in the St Leger at Doncaster and looks the type to have a good campaign. The veteran Oriental Eagle, a Group 2 winner in Germany, hasn't run since landing a Limerick Listed contest in June 2020 but that's rarely a problem for one from his yard. Taipan has won on heavy ground and was racing in strong handicaps last season.
