Verdict
It's a surprise to see Minella Bliss dropping back so dramatically in trip after his excellent head defeat by Super Daisy over 2m6f here in September. Grove Dale produced his first decent effort in a Thurles handicap last time and should improve as that was only his fifth career start. Cantrell ran a fine race behind William Wordsworth at Naas earlier this month, form that would give him a big chance here, though he's still a maiden over timber after 30 starts. Carrigeen Eile, who was around four lengths back that day, is slightly better off and may turn the tables as she is by far the less experienced of the pair. TAURANGA was having his first start for 15 months when catching the eye behind Ephorus at Limerick last month and, with that under his belt, he's given the nod in a very tricky contest.
