Verdict

A lucrative handicap in which Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins have half-a-dozen entries between them. However, the intriguing one here is TOUT EST PERMIS (NAP), who won the valuable Troytown Handicap Chase here just over a year ago and can race from a 33lb lower mark back over timber despite being 8lb out of the handicap. The owners are also represented by Elliott's progressive Coko Beach though this looks a tough task for a four-year-old. Flaxen Flare, another for the yard, has been around for a long time, winning the 2013 Triumph Hurdle. He's back in form but this year's Pertemps winner Sire Du Berlais could just need the run in such a competitive race. Acapella Bourgeois, another chaser returning to hurdles on a lower mark, looks best of the Mullins trio but The Jam Man, who was expertly placed to win three minor handicaps on good ground in the UK, will find this much tougher as will Galway winner Gran Geste, who is up 8lb.
