It's almost two years since MR DIABLO (NAP) won a tough Leopardstown handicap but he's been competing at a very high level and his second in the Grade B Troytown Handicap over the course and distance in November would be easily good enough for this. Velocity Boy does best with plenty of give in the ground and he's on a long losing run unlike Concordin. The latter was conceding 19lb to Danse Away when scoring by a neck over 2m4f at Cork and, with this longer trip no problem, he's an obvious contender. Lamb Or Cod is very well handicapped on his old UK form and, though beaten a long way on his debut for Gordon Elliott here in December, a better show is expected here.

Concordin (IRE) 16-1 (11-4) Mid-division, 5th halfway, headway on inner after 3 out and pushed along to challenge last, ridden and kept on well run-in to lead closing stages, won at Cork 2m 4f hcp sft in Jan beating Danse Away (10-13) by nk, 11 ran.
