Verdict

Doyen To Win has been in superb form in handicaps and counted a course and distance success in his hat-trick. Nucky Johnson got the race in the stewards' room at Punchestown in November but the third completed a double subsequently. Walhaan was having only his third start over hurdles when beating an odds-on chance at Leopardstown while Abbeydale showed his liking for testing conditions at Gowran. The latter's yard also run the four-year-old LUDUS, who will be on a featherweight with Danny Gilligan's claim factored in. A Limerick maiden winner on St Stephen's Day, he then ran a fine race in a Punchestown handicap before a creditable effort in the Boodles at Cheltenham.
