Dounikos will be looking to enhance his Grand National chances and a big run would see his odds contract. Gordon Elliott's charge won the National Trial at Punchestown last month, though that was over 3m4f and he may find this on the short side. WISHMOOR, who finished runner-up, is much more likely to be suited by this trip and can take his revenge with Rachael Blackmoore on board. Gordon Elliott has other chances with Monbeg Notorious, another who ran in that Trial but found the trip much too far, and Blow By Blow, who won the Martin Pipe over hurdles at Cheltenham a year ago. Pairofbrowneyes may do best of Willie Mullins' trio with Paul Townend on board though more rain would aid his cause but De Name Escapes Me went up a massive 14lb for landing a Grade B over 2m4f at Navan and couldn't cope in the Paddy Power.
