In depth

Verdict

Shelly Banks was engaged with a chance in the 5.10 at Cork yesterday. ELOSO has been narrowly beaten in his last three starts, the latest at Sligo on Sunday. He's only had six runs so there should be a bit more progress in him and he can get off the mark. Notoriously Risky is another lightweight in good form having made most until headed on the line on soft ground here in March. The stable also run Linda Barrett, though her Navan victory came in heavy conditions. Pale Iris had something in hand when seeing off Montego Bay at the Curragh and the latter could frank the form earlier in the day. Nathan Crosse was on board when Wood Ranger won a tough nursery here in October and his claim will be invaluable again while the 400,000gns Swiss Ace made a successful debut at Tipperary and went down the Group route subsequently. The latter, a son of Kingman, is out of a mare who has produced winners with all of her twelve foals to race.
