Favourites have taken the four runnings of this race so the market may well have its say, but without that information we will side with Evelith Regent ahead of Channel Crossing and English City. The selection is yet to win in four attempts on the flat but he has won a bumper and his mark of 65 looks workable. He has run well here at the track before and whilst he needs to bounce back from two poor recent runs, his trainer knows the time of day and he can win this mediocre finale. Channel Crossing comes a long way and is his new trainer's only runner at the meeting, however his best form is over shorter, a comment that also applies to Chookie Hamilton who is also yet to win on the turf. Muncaster Castle steps up in trip today; he's slow and shapes as if he'll get it, whilst Jane Of Arc ran well behind Bolckow last time at Hamilton and he comes here in fair form. Nevski Bridge is unexposed on the level and his recent hurdles run showed that he is good fettle at present, whilst English City has run poorly here in the past but is another dual-purpose horse to be wary of. A tough end to the card, however Evelith Regent gets the vote.
